RBS to give selected brands chance to bid for $80 million media account
Steve’s breakdown: Here’s an account I won back during my M&C Saatchi days. To say thet’re on the stuffy side would be an understatement. Anyway, they’ve got some idea to whom they’re inviting but if you’ve got the juice to pitch, go for it.
EDINBURGH, Scotland: The Royal Bank of Scotland is set to review the $80 million media buying and planning account currently held by MediaCom.
The advertiser is to give selected agencies an introductory review brief this week, believed to focus on NatWest – the company acquired by RBS in 2000.
RBS’s advertising is covered by M&C Saatchi, which handles its retail business and RBS Corporate business, and CHI & Partners, which oversees its in-branch creative work.
RBS had approached agencies as part of a costing exercise last June, but did not go as far as to hold a review.
