Home service company has no advertising but just hired CMO: You know what’s next

MEMPHIS, TN: As it continues to grow after spinning off from ServiceMaster in October 2018, Frontdoor Inc. — the home-service plan provider — is adding to its staff.

On March 10, the company announced that Jason Marshall, formerly the chief marketing officer (CMO) for Porch.com, has been named its CMO. It’s also made Sena Kwawu, the former SVP of finance and business operations for Starbucks, the SVP of operations.

“Jason and Sena are talented, high-impact leaders whose breadth of experience across a variety of industries will be tremendous assets as we implement strategies to grow our share of the $400 billion U.S. home services market,” Rex Tibbens, Frontdoor CEO, said in a statement.

According to the press release, Marshall has experience with data and engineering-based marketing, and the company hopes this will drive growth across its brands and develop new marketing opportunities.

Before his time with Porch.com, he worked for SolarWinds, Cost Plus World Marketing, and Party City. Marshall has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and information technology from Marquette University.

The SVP of Operations position Kwawu now holds was just created. In the role, he will oversee contractor relations for the company’s 17,000 contractor firms and 60,000 technicians. He will also be responsible for designing processes, metrics, and systems.

Kwawu has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from George Washington University, and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Frontdoor has 2,300 employees, 800 of which are based in Memphis. It works with 2.2 million customers across the U.S.
